Who is Neel Bertelsen
My name is Neel Bertelsen, and I was born, raised, and educated in India. Currently, I live in Sweden with my Danish husband, and we have a daughter, Karma, who resides in London. From a young age, I was deeply immersed in the teachings of Tibetan and Indian monks, who were regular visitors in our home. Their guidance introduced me to meditation, which quickly became an essential part of my life.
her deepening my commitment to spreading knowledge in the holistic field.
At the age of 18, I began teaching meditation in India—a passion I have followed for many years. My fascination with healing led me to study Reiki, where I earned my certifications in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system, mastering all four levels since 1997. In my pursuit of becoming a doctor in holistic medicine, I studied a wide range of alternative and holistic therapies. I have trained in Ayurveda, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, magnetic therapy, aromatherapy, and deep tissue massage, all of which have shaped and enriched my approach to healing.
In 2000, I began teaching these healing arts to others, sharing the profound benefits of these practices with individuals seeking balance and well-being. Over the years, my mission has remained clear: to empower others by sharing the transformative power of Reiki and meditation, helping them achieve physical, mental, and emotional harmony.
Join me in exploring the deep, healing potential of Reiki through courses that are grounded in ancient traditions and infused with a modern approach. Whether you're seeking healing for yourself or others, these practices offer transformative benefits that go far beyond the physical, fostering balance, clarity, and inner peace.
I was also honored to speak and be part of the organizing team at the World Congress of Holistic & Alternative Medicines, further deepening my commitment to spreading knowledge in the holistic field.
THE LEVELS
Shoden - Level 1: Benefits for the Physical Body
In Level 1, students learn the history of Reiki and the basic hand positions. At this stage, it is advised that students refrain from treating higher levels of illness or disease, as they are not yet attuned to manage higher energy frequencies. This could lead to an imbalance, affecting both the receiver and the practitioner. After the initiation into Level 1, students are encouraged to work on themselves for a period of 21 days before attempting to treat others. Only after this self-cleansing period may they begin working on family members or colleagues. The recommended time between Level 1 and Level 2 is approximately 2 months, during which students will be assessed before moving on to the next level.
Okuden - Level 2: Benefits for the Physical and Mental Body
In Level 2, students are initiated to a higher energetic frequency, enabling them to work with more powerful healing vibrations. During this level, students receive three sacred symbols that support them in healing more complex illnesses and emotional issues. This attunement enhances the ability to heal not only the physical body but also the mental and subtle bodies. Similar to Level 1, there is a 21-day self-cleansing period before students begin to work on others. The time between Level 2 and Level 3 is typically 7 to 9 months, with an assessment before moving on to Level 3.
Chuden - Level 3: Benefits at a Deeper and Higher Stage
Level 3 introduces an additional master symbol that allows practitioners to work more profoundly on the inner aspects of the receiver. At this stage, you can address deeper issues, including karmic patterns and past life traumas. Like the previous levels, there is a 21-day self-care period before working on others. The time between Level 3 and the Master Level (Level 4) is usually 6 to 7 months or more, with an evaluation before proceeding to Level 4.
Shinpiden - Level 4: The Master Level
In the Master Level, students are taught to become Reiki Masters themselves and are prepared to begin teaching others. At this stage, you receive additional symbols that open channels for you to guide others on their Reiki journey. After completing the 21-day self-cleansing period, there is a final waiting period of about 3 months before you are eligible to receive your Master Level certification. Only after this period can you begin teaching Reiki to others.
